Why is the new IBAN different? Amanda Oliver 24 June 2021 10:09 Updated Each VIABUY account comes with an individual assigned IBAN that starts with a two-digit countrycode. Previously, we had provided all customers with an IBAN that started with “DE” as weused a German provider. After switching to a new provider, which is based in Luxembourg, all IBANs now start with “LU” and are shorter in length. The IBAN in Luxembourg consists of 20 characters: 2-letter country code 2-digit verification number 3-character bank code 13-digit code for the bank account number IBAN example: LU890030432075812000 IBAN in print format: LU89 0030 4320 7581 2000 Country code: LU Check digits: 89 Bank code: 003 Bank account number: 0432075812000 If your new IBAN is not accepted for transfers, please read this article: What can I do if my new IBAN is not accepted for bank transfers?
