How do I activate my new VIABUY card?

Activating your VIABUY Prepaid Mastercard is a simple process.

If you're an existing VIABUY customer and need to activate a replacement or renewal card please click here.

To activate your first VIABUY card, please follow these steps:

1. If you're using a browser, click on the activation link or go to viabuy.com and click on Activate card on the upper right-hand side of the screen.

2. Fill in the required information: 

• The last 4 digits of your 16-digit card number
• The 9-digit card ID (the number that's on the card under your name)
• Your mobile number (the country code is pre-filled automatically so you have to change it manually if you're not using a German number). Make sure to not include the 0 after the country code, so the number format should be +49 170000000
• Your date of birth

3. Click on Submit. 

4. You will receive a verification code by SMS to validate your mobile number, and you need to create a new password for your account login. Fill in the verification code on the screen and create a safe password.

Tip to keep in mind: The SMS may take a couple of minutes to arrive so, to avoid inserting the wrong code, we recommend that you wait a few minutes before clicking on Resend.

5. Click on Set new password.

6. You can now log in. During your first login, you will have to go through the 2-steps verification process, by inserting the security check code that will be sent to your registered phone number. 

7. Check the box to trust your browser if you know it's safe to use that browser to log in to your VIABUY account. This will void the 2-factor authentication step for future logins.

8. Click on Submit code.

That's all! Your new VIABUY card is activated and you're automatically logged in. 

If you're using the VIABUY app to activate your new card, the steps are the same. Simply tap Activate a new card at the bottom of the screen and fill in your card and personal details.
